I think it would be great if Rangers had some type of Enchantment or whatever skill that when used, all animals in the area (without a master) would fight on your side. You could have a small army of level 5 lizards. It would last as long as you have the enchantment on you.

I didnt want to put this into the skill thread because I wanted to see a discussion/thoughts on it instead of being passed over like the others. It seems to me like an obvious skill that should have been in there. And obviously this is based for PvE. Unless Anet made some new PvP maps....

the only problem is that there are not enough pets to make an impact, plus like you said, its pointless for pvp.

Maybe if they increased the levels of the animals in the game. I've always thought it was kinda silly to have level 5 animals in the desert and beyond. The skill could be cheap and long lasting to make it somewhat worth while. And who knows with Chapter 2? Maybe the next chapters will have more animals in it?

Also there is a skill similar to this one already (Otyughs Cry), but it doesnt last. This would be like a long lasting version of it and for only wild animals instead of pets and wild animals.

Yeah I edited my post. Its more like a longer lasting version of it. And for only wild animals. Pets not affected.

Otyugh's Cry is not very useful ....sorry. If you are a pure beast master, Call of Protection is the defensive skill you want to use.

Otyugh's Cry says all the pets would attack the same target you are attacking. I tested it with other beast masters on my team and I don't see them attacking..or being hostile to the target. Maybe I get confused but that skill is not that useful. +20 armor is nice but -15 damage is better.

Agreed. The skill isn't great. And yes, I've seen the same thing you have. The key is in the wording of the skill description. Animals in the area "become hostile" to your target. They don't automatically drop what they're doing (which is absolutely nothing!) and attack them. They just attack if your target gets too close to them.

Long story short: All this skill does is make a bunch of animals in the area paranoid and ill-tempered. WOO HOO

No that is NOT the point of this skill!

It is not the same as Otyughs Cry, just somewhat similar. It would make all animals in area an ally like bone minions. They would be swarming around you and behave the same as your pet. And as long as you keep the enchant/stance/shout/whatever going, you continue to collect animals along your way.
